September

September was a crazy month! My husband had to be out of state for three weeks at training so I went back home to Missouri. The first day back home we took family pictures! FINALLY! We have been trying forever to get all of us together and we finally did it! So here we are...

This had to be the easiest family I've ever photographed! This was such a last minute thing and it worked out so great! They drove from Lebanon to Montauk with just one day's notice! They were so easy to work with and the kids were awesome! Thanks Meints family for a wonderful Sunday evening!

Tiffany and I have been trying to get together for MONTHS! We've been making plans since last June to do family pictures, but the weather was not interested in cooperating with us. So it all worked out this time. This is little Kayln. She was very busy! I'm so thankful my mom was there to help make her laugh (and catch her) while I was taking the picture!

Kayln wanted to show us her little belly! How sweet is that?

And now we are on to Dylan! He is a senior this year and he made my job WAY too easy! He was so photogenic and was having a great time.

These two girls are sisters and they were also very easy to photograph. Aren't they beautiful? This is the second time I've been able to photograph them and I was actually able to coach an USAV (volleyball) team a few years ago and Chelsea was one of the setters. She's a great player.

Brothers! They are about as different as my sister and I! Dylan loved the camera and Dalton...I don't think liked it quite as much ;)

These two are graduating this year! Again...they made my job WAY too easy!

Dylan wanted pictures with his car so why not park in the middle of main street after it got dark? We only had to dodge a few cars. It was a fun experience!

And last, but definitely not least...my little nephew, Westin, turned one year old! I can't believe how fast this last year has gone! I love you buddy!

And we found out we are getting a baby GIRL!!! So come February you can expect lots of pictures of our baby girl! We can't wait!

It's been a while!!!

Gosh, where to begin...
First off, WE ARE HAVING A BABY! We found out in late May that we were going to be adding a little one to our family in February. We are really excited! June and July were busy with taking pictures, playing with my nephew and getting ready to move. So now, we are in Florida and although it's tough being away from our family and friends, we love it.

It's so hard to believe, but Westin is almost ONE! Before I left I was able to get a few of him and his mommy. Aren't those the most beautiful eyes?

Here is another set of familiar faces. Before I left I took pictures of two of my best friends and their kids. I can't believe they are growing this fast!

Scott and Brandi were so much fun. They were married near downtown Rolla so after they got ready we went for a walk. I love this kind of photography! We found a couple of alleys to get a few really cool shots. They were both so easy going the whole day and they really were so happy to get married.

Just a few days after the Pruitt wedding I got to go visit an old friend. Ashley used to come down in the summers to stay with her grandma who lived close to our house so we spent a lot of time together when we were kids. Now she has a husband and two beautiful children. These pictures were taken on their family farms.

The Bland's

I'm a little slow on this one, but a few weekends ago, one of my best friends married her best friend. I had the honor of being Jessica's Matron of Honor and photographer. It actually went super smooth too! They are such a perfect couple, and as you can tell, they are so happy together!

They choose to see each other before the ceremony so we locked all the sanctuary doors and she walked down the aisle to meet him.

Then we got right in to taking the pictures! Thanks Tali for helping me out so I could be in a few!

Pho and his groomsmen

Isn't she gorgeous!

Right after the ceremony we found a little dirt road to take some pictures at and I'm so glad we did. I love how these turned out.

I LOVE what I do!

I really do love what I get to do! I would love to record a session to share with everyone because they tend to be hilarious! This particular afternoon was spent with my four favorite little men.

Westin was distracted/fascinated by the grass, Easton was being really good, Kannon lost interest because he wanted to go ride go karts, and Logan didn't want to be on the grass! We did end up getting a few though!

Life's Art

Photography is the art of taking photographs. Art is the "quality, production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or of more than ordinary significance" (according to dictionary.com). To me, photography is life's art, and this is my passion.

My grandma keeps a box of pictures under her bed and I love going through them with her. They all have story. I love to see those pictures as she tells me everything she remembers about that exact moment that was frozen in time. I love seeing how things have changed and yet, how they have remained totally unchanged at the same time. Genuine happiness is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. I love to see their wedding pictures and to hear about that day in July of 1959. It was nothing more than her wearing a sundress at a preachers house in Raymondville, but they had the world with each other. She tells me how they didn't have enough money to have a big wedding, but it didn't matter. They had each other and that is all that mattered. Their smile was the same then as it was on their 50th wedding anniversary just a few months ago. These photographs are held very dear to me and I will show them to my grandchildren one day while I pass down the memory to them and they too will see and feel the love they had for each other. One photograph not only speaks a thousand words, but holds such emotion and memory.

As a photographer, I get to preserve an exact moment of time...freeze it, capture it, and document it. My goal is that in years to come, you can look back on your pictures, close your eyes and go back....go back to the day you said "I do," to those first steps your child took, to those first moments when God breathed life into your baby. Go back to the breeze on that fall morning, to the smell of rain coming. Go back and hear the way your husband and children were laughing because you kept closing your eyes for the picture. Go back and remember just how much you love those people standing by you in the photograph and how much they mean to you.

Life inspires me. I love life. I love seeing it, I love experiencing it and I love capturing it. Life happens so quickly. I'm so thankful that God chose me and gave me the gift that He did.

Friends

I have some of the best friends in the world and they have the cutest little boys! My sister is my best friend and my nephew is precious. I'm pretty crazy about that little guy [can't tell right :) ]. And I don't know what I would do without Kaylon and Joni! Here is Joni and Dakota's newborn, Easton Dale.
